BIO
Keenan Ha (or ‘keenan etc.’), born in 1999 in Detroit, Michigan, United States, is a contemporary painter based in Detroit. He studied at Oakland Community College’s Royal Oak campus, earning an associate’s degree in 2022. Etc. His paintings serve as commentary on perfectionism and spiritual transcendence, removing the figure to focus on color, shape, and space, prompting viewers to consider how these elements affect their thoughts, feelings, and beliefs. Using black polka dots as his focus, he reflects his fading memories and out-of-focus, distant thoughts. The adopted name “etc.” symbolizes his evolving identity, or ‘the rest’ of his spiritual evolution, inspired by the ‘dot’ in the abbreviated ‘et cetera.’
